The WWW is a valuable resource that provides access to information of all kinds. Every day new sources become available online. The advantages the internet offers students are tremendous; however it is important for you to realize that the "Open" or Free Web is an unregulated resource that allows anyone to post anything at anytime. People who have no expertise in a subject may post on that topic.
Many sources on the web have proven to be inaccurate and unreliable. Checking the reliability and accuracy of information taken from web sites could take more time than going to the library or using a scholarly database. Using information from an unverified web source makes your research invalid!
